Jake S. Oresick, Attorney

Jake Oresick is an associate attorney whose practice focuses on commercial, construction, and Orphans’ Court litigation.

He earned a B.A. from John Carroll University in 2006, an M.S.P.P.M. from Carnegie Mellon University in 2012, and a J.D. from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law in 2012. While at Pitt Law, Mr. Oresick won the CALI Award as the best legal aid clinic intern, served as a teaching assistant for the Legal Analysis & Writing program as well as on the staff of JURIST, Pitt’s web-based legal news and real-time legal research tool.

Prior to joining Creenan & Baczkowski, PC, he clerked for Judge Debbie O’Dell-Seneca of the Washington County Court of Common Pleas, Judge Anthony G. Marsili of the Westmoreland County Court of Common Pleas, and Judge Patrick Connelly of the Allegheny County Court of Common Pleas.

Mr. Oresick is admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania and the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania. He is a member of the Allegheny County Bar Association, serves as vice president of the Oakland Planning and Development Corporation’s board of directors, and is a past president of John Carroll University’s Pittsburgh alumni chapter.

In 2017, he published his first book, The Schenley Experiment: A Social History of Pittsburgh’s First Public High School (Penn State University Press, 2017), which the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette called “curious and compelling.”
